WANTED: St. Louis police searching for accused murderer

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -The St. Louis Police Department is asking for help finding a man wanted for murder.

John Phillips, 45, is charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action, first-degree robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm in the death of Mack Wagner.

Wagner, 62, was shot and killed on the afternoon of July 29 in the Dutchtown neighborhood. Police said he was found shot on the floor inside the Kaiser Mart at 5008 S. Grand Blvd. He was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after the shooting.

St. Louis police have provided a booking photo of Phillips related to charges for stealing in 2023. Anyone who sees Phillips is encouraged not to approach him but to call 911 immediately.
