MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - A suspect is now in custody and charged with murder in connection to the Oct. 26 death of Marquaries Williams, the Montgomery Police Department is confirming.

Investigators with MPD’s Special Operations arrested Khamaury Gorman, 19, of Montgomery, Thursday.

The investigation started around 6:40 p.m. that Saturday when police responded to a shooting call in the 1000 block of Mill Street. First responders found Williams, 34, in life-threatening condition and transported him to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A motive for the homicide has not been released.

Williams’ family took part in a walk for justice in his honor on Nov. 16, urging justice in his case.

Gorman is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
