SMITHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A search is underway for a man wanted for “multiple shootings” in DeKalb County on Thursday evening, according to an emergency message from DeKalb County 911.
The message reads as follows:
“This is a message from DeKalb County 911. Please be on the lookout for a Black male in the area of Bell Street who left on foot. He is wanted by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department for multiple shootings. The subject is described as a Black male wearing blue jeans and a gray shirt. He is in his mid 20’s. Do not try to approach this subject. He is considered armed and dangerous. Call 911 immediately.”
WSMV4 has reached out to multiple first-responding agencies for more information on this matter. We have not yet received a response.

A radio station in Smithville, WJLE 101.7 FM, also put out the message from the county’s 911 center.
