Expect the rain to develop in Franklin County by 7 p.m., arrive along the Susquehanna River by 9 p.m. and move east from 10 to 11 p.m. You may hear a rumble of thunder, and winds could gust to 30 mph. The front will drop 0.50" to 1" of much-needed rain across the area.By sunrise Thursday, it will be clear and breezy. Clouds will return Thursday afternoon, and a few rain showers are possible. Highs will reach the upper 40s, nearly 15 degrees cooler than Wednesday.A cold area of low pressure will develop over Pennsylvania on Friday. Look for scattered morning snow showers, mainly north of the PA Turnpike, followed by rain and snow showers across the area in the afternoon and evening. Roads will be wet, but a coating is possible on the grass and mulch, especially at elevation. No major impacts are expected in the Susquehanna Valley on Friday. Higher snow totals will remain west in the higher elevations of the Laural Highlands and Alleghenies, north of I-80, and in the Pocono Mountains. Winds will increase to 15-25 mph, and temperatures will struggle to reach the low 40s.Saturday will feature mostly cloudy skies and a few leftover showers. It will remain blustery, with highs just shy of 50 degrees.Brisk winds are in store on Sunday, but temperatures will moderate to the low 50s.Monday through Wednesday looks mainly dry for Thanksgiving travel. Temperatures will hit the low-to-mid 50s.Low pressure will move up the East Coast on Thanksgiving, bringing a chance of showers.
