Huntsville non-profit embraces community through free meals this Thanksgiving

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Thanksgiving is next week and one Huntsville non-profit is ready to celebrate the community with free food this season.

Village of Promise will host its annual One Table Huntsville event at Big Spring Park on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Village of Promise CEO Dana Gillis recently joined 48 Now to speak about Monday’s annual event and also shared what he’s thankful for this Thanksgiving.

“We thought it was really important to bring together the entire community,” Gillis said. “And we didn’t want to have an agenda for it. So, it’s just basically bringing everybody together, having a meal, and having conversations. Basically getting to know one another and to build a stronger sense of community.”

Additionally, Gillis spoke about the non-profit organization and everything the organization is doing for the community.
