“I got an Apple AirTag for my wife’s iPhone and I was surprised how poor it performed with distance (100ft compared to the Samsung’s 400 ft) and sound level. I have a samsung galaxy so I got the 4 tags on black friday and I’m really impressed. The Samsung network is actually very good, most uber drivers in my city use Samsungs too so the tags’ locations are constantly bring updated and I always know where my items I attatched my tags to are located. You can see a 7 day history of the movement of each tag so this is great for putting into suitcases for air travel in case they lose the bag. It’s also fun when waiting for your bag to come out at the baggage claim, you will get notified when your bag is close to coming out from behind the scenes which is great as now I don’t need to keep my eyes glued on the carousel and walk around aimlessly looking for it. Plus it tells you your exact distance when you’re within 10 meters of it. You can also track your own activity level when walking around a city if you have one with you (on your keys for example). I will put one of them on my dog’s collar so I can track my dog walker’s activity level with my dog and in case he ever gets off his leash and runs off. I have one on my cat too as he is REALLY good at hiding in my house, but that one be a problem anymore as I’ll be able to know EXACTLY where he is with the AR capability of this tag hahaha. Sound is very good and the fact it has the ring built into it is more convenient than the apple airtag. Anyway, I bet the airtag 2.0 will possibly be better but that won’t come out for another year so I was happy to take a chance on Samsung’s product.
