President-elect Donald Trump is proposing a new federal government agency: the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which would be headed by Tesla/X CEO Elon Musk and MAGA businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
One of the far-right MAGA Republicans Trump would like to see get involved with DOGE is Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia), who was reelected on November 5.
Greene, according to CNBC, has "been tapped to lead a new House subcommittee that will work with" DOGE.
Greene and House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Kentucky), CNBC reports, have already met with Ramaswamy to discuss the proposed agency.
But progressive Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York), a scathing critic of Greene, slammed her as someone who falls short when it comes to digging into policy.
In a November 21 post on X, formerly Twitter, AOC — who was also reelected on November 5 — wrote, "This is good, actually. She barely shows up and doesn't do the reading."
AOC added, "To borrow a phrase I saw elsewhere, it's like giving someone an unplugged controller."
