One of two men found shot to death at an abandoned house in Birmingham’s Inglenook community has now been identified.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the man as Michael Allen Carroll. He was 20 and lived in Center Point.
East Precinct officers responded to a shots fired call around 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the 4400 block of 41st Place North, said Officer Truman Fitzgerald.
Officers went to the back area of an abandoned house where they found a man shot and lying unresponsive in the driveway.
That victim, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police then found a second victim – Carroll - inside the house following a search of the area.
Officers at the scene found a third man who was detained by authorities.
Responding officers discovered a fourth man walking in the area and detained him as well, Fitzgerald said.
Both men were placed into the Birmingham City Jail on a 48-hour investigative hold. It was not immediately clear whether any charges have been filed.
A stolen vehicle was recovered at the scene.
Carroll was one of four men shot in about four hours Thursday who died.
